Karma Choying Kunkyab Ling was established in March 1999 to propagate the profound teachings and practices of Vajrayana Buddhism according to the unbroken lineage of the Karma Kagyu.  The Centre was inaugurated on 1 September 2001 by our Resident Rinpoche, His Eminence Sangye Nyenpa Rinpoche.  The name of the centre, “Karma Choying Kunkyab Ling”, was given by His Holiness, The 17th Gyalwang Karmapa, Ogyen Trinley Dorje through the renowned meditational master His Eminence Bokar Rinpoche.

The establishment of the Centre is the culmination of the wishes and aspirations of a group of Buddhist devotees, who have over the past decade worked tirelessly for the Buddhist cause, organizing Dharma activities to propagate the teachings of Sakyamuni Buddha to benefit all sentient beings.

The centre, located on the 2nd floor of the Yeo's Building, Telok Blangah Street 31, was renovated through the generous donations and kind support of members and friends. It consists of a shrine hall, office, dining room, Lama and Rinpoche rooms. The shrine hall houses a 3-foot image of Buddha Sakyamuni in the centre, flanked on each side with the images of Four-Arm Chenrezig and Guru Padmasambhava. Among the tangkas in the shrine hall is one of Ashobhya Buddha, which was presented to the centre by H.H. Ogyen Trinley Dorje. A poem composed by H.H. Ogyen Trinley Dorje in the Chinese language is prominently displayed at the entrance to the Centre.
